Looking to move from single pitch sport routes and jump on something bigger? But you’re worried you don’t have the skills. Then this is the course for you!

 

 

 

 

 


Competent Second – 1 Day 
This course will teach you everything you need to know to be a competent second and look after yourself while your climbing partner dose all the lead climbing.
Prerequisites – Have climbed before

    • Intro to gear

    • Basic climbing movement

    • Lead belaying

    • Tieing into belays

    • Building belays

    • Removing quickdraws

    • Climbing calls and communication

    • Abseiling

    • Crag etiquette

Learn to Multi pitch lead – 1 to 5 Day (Depending on prior experience)
This course will get you multi pitch sport leading.
Prerequisites – To have some experience seconding a lead climber

  • Intro to gear

  • Bolt identification
  • Racking up

  • Basic climbing movement

  • Lead belaying

  • Lead climbing

  • Anchor selection

  • Building belays

  • Guide book interpretation

  • Route finding

  • Retrievable abseils

  • Crag etiquette

Multi pitch improvers – 1 Day 
If you already sport lead but would like to enhance your skills and check that you are doing everything to current best practice. Or if you would like to start to take out friends who have not been multi pitch climbing
Prerequisites – To have some experience lead climbing

  • Gear inspection

  • Gear selection

  • Climbing technique

  • Rock types
  • Efficient / improved clipping

  • Building better belays

  • Climbing tactics

  • Retreating from routes

  • Half ropes and double ropes

  • Climbing with multi Pitch novices

  • Weather
