Rock Climbing Instructor training

The course covers a wide range of topics, including equipment, anchors, belaying, personal skills, abseiling, background knowledge, planning and structure of sessions, organising sessions, management of participants, decision making, personal safety, knowledge and demonstration of techniques, managing/supervising other staff, teaching and learning skills, access, conservation, and etiquette and ethics.

The prerequisites for the Rock Climbing Instructor training are:
* You must be registered on the qualification.
* You must have an up to date logbook (preferably DLOG) with evidence of the following:
* 15 led routes which must be graded rock climbs with traditional protection.
* 15 led routes at a climbing wall.
* 5 led routes which must be outdoor bolt protected sport climbs.

The @mtntraining Indoor Climbing Assistant course focuses on equipping individuals with the skills to effectively support qualified climbing instructors and coaches within an indoor climbing environment.

The syllabus covers a broad range of topics, including:
* Duty of care: Understanding responsibilities and legal obligations.
* Climbing terminology: Familiarization with common climbing language.
* Climbing environment: Safe practices and etiquette within the climbing wall.
* Equipment: Proper use, inspection, and fitting of climbing gear.
* Warm-up and cool-down: Importance and techniques.
* Bouldering and roped climbing safety: Essential procedures and supervision.
* Movement coaching: Basic techniques for assisting climbers.
* Belaying instruction: Teaching and supervising belay techniques.
* Session planning: Contributing to the structure and content of climbing sessions.

Ideal for parents, school teachers, social club leaders, or anyone 16 years old or older with an interest in climbing.
