The English Government have released their road map out of COVID restrictions. Although none of these dates are set in stone they do give us hope and a frame to work from.
- 8th March
- Mountain Training courses (Outdoor only)
- Courses that are supporting Mountain Training qualifications
- Courses that support your work
- 29th March
- All outdoor course
- 12th April
- All Mountain Training courses
- Climbing Walls reopen
Wales will be making their announcement on 12th March.
While the whole country is in lockdown, I am not delivering face to face courses. But if you’re interested in keeping fit / getting strong or progressing with your qualifications remotely send an email to hello@dannywg.com
When the lockdown ends;
Coronavirus (COVID-19) is still a threat and we all have a responsibility to reduce the spread of the virus. SAGE evidence suggests that outdoor activities may present a lower risk of virus transmission.
Courses have been carefully designed, risk assessed with aid from medical experts and will be updated daily to follow current government guidance including social distancing.
If you are concerned about anything please feel free to drop me an email to discuss.
Steps taken will include but are not limited to:
- All courses will be delivered outside until climbing walls can safely reopen where needed. Refreshers for indoor mountain training courses can be delivered outside until further notice.
- Digital Covid-19 appropriate declaration of health submitted the night before your course. And confirmation each morning of your course.
- Social distancing (2m)
- Cleaning hands regularly (hand sanitiser)
- Limited group sizes
- Clients to wear face coverings where advice suggests or at any point you wish, I will wear a face cover where required and am happy to wear one for the duration of your course upon request.
- Arriving in separate vehicles
- Choosing quiet locations and avoiding other groups of climbers
- Using own kit or using designated borrowed kit for the day
- All kit will be cleaned where possible or will have spent an appropriate amount of time in isolation before each course
In case of an emergency, immediate safety concerns or first aid incident where the 2m social distancing barrier may need to be broken, I will take measures to keep all involved safe. These may including wearing a face covering, keeping close contact to a limited amount of time; under 15 minutes if possible and avoiding face to face contact where possible (facing away or stood to the side).
