This course is has been designed using the latest research from DAV and Edelrid. We will workshop a wide variety off different devices and practice catching falls with a mass, not a climber so we can really push the limits of what is possible!

- Holding falls
- How and when to ‘Hard’ and ‘Soft’ catch
- How to guard against unexpected falls
- Use a wide variety of different assisted braking devices
- GriGri, Smart, Revo, Pilot, Matik and more
- Learn the limits of assisted braking devices
- How and when do they assist the braking
- How and when they don’t assist brake
- Using friction only belay devices
- Holding falls
- Belaying for trad climbing
Even if you are an experienced lead belayer, this is a good opportunity to practice, experiment and hone your belaying skills with a dropping mass rather than your climbing partner.
