This course is especially designed to get young indoor leaders (NICAS level 4) outside sport climbing. This introduction to sport climbing course will be a fun day out and will give both parents and young climbers the skills they need to start sport climbing outside. The Course
To become an under 18 outdoor sport climber
Prerequisites – Leading confidently inside and be 11-17 years old
Cost – £80 (10:00-17:00)
- Intro to outdoor sport climbing gear
- Bolt identification
- Re-threading different lower off’s
- The difference between outdoor and indoor climbing movement
- Outdoor sport climbing lead belaying
- Lead climbing
- Clipping bolts
- Safe guarding
- Retreating from routes
- Guide book interpretation
- Crag etiquette
